We love this new retail project by award-winning Melbourne interior designer firm Hecker Guthrie.

What’s the story?

Foxes Den in Port Melbourne is a hip version of a local chicken shop, and Hecker Guthrie drew on the idea of the barn yard chicken coop as inspiration for the concept.

Why it works

The palette is deliberately neutral and clean, using practical pine joinery and stools, canvas shades and steel accents. The bright green maidenhair ferns and orange paint keep it warm, vibrant & fun.

Steal the style

HG sourced the A3-joint stools from Australian designer Henry Wilson. The industrial style hanging pendants are by trad British supplier Davey Lighting, available in Australia through Dunlin Home. For the paint colour, try Wattyl’s ‘Mandarin Grove’.
